Spain has many lovely beaches in Valencia, Barcelona, and the Costa del Sol region. These destinations also offer cheap flights and budget options for accommodation. The ideal time to visit Spain is in September or early October, when it is not only cooler but flights and hotels are also cheaper.
Portugal is less crowded than Spain and more affordable for those on a shoe-string travel budget. Public transportation in Portugal is budget friendly and safe. Late July and August is a good time for a European budget travel holiday to Germany. Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina are some other budget travel destinations in Europe.
