Underwater Sculptures: a New Phase of Art Travel

There's a new phase of travel for art lovers, and it includes putting on your scuba diving gear and jumping into the ocean to check out the latest underwater sculpture.

Yes, you heard correctly. Underwater sculpture.

Jason de Caires Taylor is the creator of the world's first underwater park, and now you can see his latest creation in Guatemala's Lake Atitlan. A ring of solitary life-size figures will greet you as you make your way down the deepest lake in Central America.

The sculptures are sited in clear shallow waters and are easily sighted by divers, snorkelers and those in glass-bottomed boats. The aim of these breathtaking sculptures is to discover the beauty of our underwater planet and to appreciate the processes of reef evolution.
