U.K.-Singapore Air Deal: A Change for the Better
Filed in archive Travel News on October 18, 2007

According to TTG Asia, Singapore and Britain have reached an agreement that will drastically change the amount of air traffic between the two countries.
The pact removes any cap on services between both countries and beyond to any cities in the world, allows for aircraft to be based in each other's airports and includes cabotage rights for Singapore's carriers to operate on domestic sectors within the UK.
With seats on flights between the U.K. and her former colony seeming rather scare lately, this deal is music to travel agents' ears. Flights from the U.K. to Asia will be more frequent, and, hopefully, a bit more reasonably priced.
The big winner is singapore airlines. The company can now use British airports as a base for flying Atlantic routes; making their airline and its trademark in-flight service a global phenomenon.
