Treating Yourself to Tahiti
Filed in archive Luxury Travel by Josh Lew on November 29, 2007
Whether or not luxury resorts provide the true experience of paradise or not is open to debate. There is no argument, though, that the resort in this video is attractive. Intercontinental own a chain of resorts and hotels around the world. This one, in Tahiti, offers an array of rooms, including one that offers a 360 degree view of the beach and sea.

Looks great. All you need is $400 per night, not including airfare or meals.

Tahiti is an island of many resorts. Tourism is the island's major industry, but it's not only for those who need excessive pampering.

There is plenty of regularly priced accommodation, though checking low season rates or booking a package tour might be worth checking into. Though some of the beaches are privately owned by resorts, there are plenty stretches of sand open to the general public.

Family run guest-houses are less pricey and offer a more authentic experience than the 5-star crowd. Many of these places include a meal or other services in the price.
