If you had a chance to swim with the sharks (and it wasn't just a metaphor), would you? You can: at the Golden Nugget in Las Vegas. While the sharks are "in" the pool, there's a clear acrylic wall surrounding them. So the hotel's gaming tables are more dangerous.

MSNBC recently took a look at ten of the coolest swimming pools in the world. The Golden Nugget has one of them. There's also the palm lined, 164-foot pool at the Al Bustan Palace InterContinental Muscat in Oman. And the two-acre pool deck at the Viceroy Miami; it features Japanese blueberry trees and an 80-person hot tub.

My favorite might be the swimming basin at the 347-room Umaid Bhawan Palace in Rajasthan. LIt with natural candlelight, sometomes strewn with rose petals, the hotel is "run by the Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces, which shares the property with the palace's owner, the Maharaja of Jodhpur-who has been known to swim laps with the guests from time to time." Cool...
