There are a handful of good travel weblogs worth browsing. Though most of these have personal accounts of life in a foreign land, they are more informative than mere travel journals. Perhaps it is the personal touches that make them so readable. I want to bring some of these weblogs to your attention over the coming weeks.
I'll start with a site concerning two of my favorite things: Food and Thailand. The author of a blog called Real Thai has a good eye for pictures and writes with the casual authority of someone intimately familiar with (and at complete ease in) his adopted home. The photos are a great introduction to Thai food. Hell, Real Thai may be more useful than Lonely Planet. One thing is for sure: all those photos of food will make you want to pack your spoon, jump on a plane, and head to Bangkok for a meal or two.
