Sightseeing in Springfield
Though it may not be the Springfield of the Simpsons, the capital citylinks of Illinois boasts some famous former residents. Abraham Lincoln is everywhere in Springfield. His presidential library, tomb, and the office where he practiced law prior to becoming a politician are all popular sites for visitors.

Visitors who've had their fill of Honest Abe can enjoy a stroll on the pleasant capital grounds or on the campus of the University of Illinois. The relative quiet of Springfield is a welcome change from hectic and smoggy Chicago. Still, this is Illinois, a land where good food is held in high regard. Restaurants around the capital and on campus provide quality food and laid-back atmosphere.
