Penang is a vibrant and historic city in Malaysia. Known for its unique blend of Chinese, Indian, and Malay cuisines, this city is also home to vast malls, markets, and department stores. Starting next month the Mega Shopping Carnival 2007 will take place at stores and malls throughout the city. Depending on your penchant for consumerism, this festival will either cause a gasp of excitement or a back-pain inducing cringe.

Of course, the shopping event will not in any way impede the sale of the world-famous street food found throughout Penang. The city's blend of Chinese, Malay, and colonial architecture is also quite a sight. Whether you are a shopper or not, there will be something to do in Malaysia's most colorful city.
