With autumn now in full swing, the crowds have thinned out a little at beaches in the Wetern US and Canada. But they're still worth visiting - especially if you're more interested in scenic beauty than in catching a wave.

CNN recently took a look at a few of the best choices.
ROCKWATER SECRET COVE RESORT, Near Halfmoon Bay, British Columbia

This ragged stretch of the Sunshine Coast is so unspoiled and awe-inspiring, it's sometimes hard to imagine that anyone but a bald eagle or two has been here before you.
