Olympic Hotel Directory: Peninsula Beijing

If you're looking for world class hotels to stay at while the Olympics goes on, we have some tips for you.

The Peninsula Beijing has been on Conde Nast Traveler's Gold list, and is one of the best hotels in Beijing for business and leisure travelers.

The hotel was open in 1989 and underwent a name change from the palace Hotel. The forecourt was remodelled during a recent renovation and the hotel has two renowned resturants: JING, which serves western cuisine with an Asian flair; and Huang Ting, which has Chinese cuisine and Beijing specialties.

The Peninsula's tradition of comfort interwoven with carefully chosen Chinese and Asian elements continues in this landmark, and all guest rooms have traditional Europe interiors and fixtures, Chinese rugs, a 42 inch plasma television, complimentary wired and wireless high speed Internet access, silent fax machines and The Peninsula's signature technology – a bedside electronic panel which centralizes all control functions in the room. It also has an electronic display by the door showing outdoor temperature and humidity levels.

Post renovation features include an expanded Club lounge. It is a short walk from the Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square and the Wangfujing shopping district.
