On June 14-17, there will be no Amtrak service between Boston and New York.
From Saturday to Tuesday, there will be virtually no Amtrak service between Boston and New York as Amtrak replaces the movable span of the 90-year-old Thames River Bridge, between Groton and New London, Conn.
Amtrak says that the work is necessary to ensure safety. The upside for Amtrak customers is that the rail service promises to do maintenance "blitz" between Boston and New Haven in the four days when service is suspended.
Just when gas prices are on the rise, you have one option less if you are going to New York on the above specified dates. But then that's only for 4 days.
