Montenegro Becoming Mediterranean Hotspot
Filed in archive A World Away on September 28, 2009
Montenegro has slowly become the new hotspot for Mediterranean travel, according the CNN.
Rick Steves writes about his recent trip to Montenegro...Once part of Yugoslavia and then part of Serbia, this tiny mountainous nation on the Adriatic achieved independence only recently, in 2006. This summer my film crew and I set out to capture the country for a public television show.
The country has its drawback. Infrastructure is not the greatest. But the scenic beauty and charm are attracting tourists in growing numbers.

The easiest way to come to Montenegro is to travel by plane to Dubrovnik. You are left only an hour drive to the coast of Montenegro.
