Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade

It's one of the spectacles of modern American life. It seems that Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade would be out of place anywhere but New York City. With Broadway's stagehands still on strike, Macy's will be the only show in town. Here's a clip from last year's parade:



If the thought of floats and marching bands turns you off, I posted, last week, about some interesting alternatives. If you are a kid or a parent with kids, it'd be tough to find something to top the experience of the parade.



The city's unpredictable November weather is always a wild card. You might need a sweatshirtlinks to stand along the parade route, you might need a parka, or even a rain slicker. For the well-informed traveler or the old New York hand, finding the right spot is a piece of cake. And, for the rest of us, there is plenty of advice out there.
