Lonely Planet Colombia

Filed in archive Travel Books by Gloria Gamat on April 17, 2008

The Lonely Planet Colombia guidebook was apparently (or allegedly! whichever the case really is) written by somebody who has never been to Colombia at all.

The said writer, Freelancer Thomas Kohnstamn, told the Sunday Telegraph:

"They didn't pay me enough to go to Colombia. I wrote the book in San Francisco. I got the information from a chick I was dating - an intern at the Colombian consulate".

However, Lonely Planet has denied such claims.

What do you guys think?
