America is a pet-loving place. I don't think I can rank them and say that this place is the best spot for pets and that place is the second best, but a number of cities in the United States are very pet-friendly.
Like most big cities, New York City is hard on pets in some ways. But the Big Apple has lots and lots of green spaces where pets and their owners can spend time out does. Boston and Philadelphia are not much difference. The cities have little choice; American's simply love their pets.
Many of the coastal cities of the Southeastern US are great places for pets. The list is long: Wilmington, North Carolina; Charleston, South Carolina; Savannah, Georgia; St. Augustine, Florida.
Of course, America's midlands are very pet-friendly. Dogs play a major role in Texas culture. Houston, Dallas, and El Paso are all pet friendly cities. But so are most of the major cities in the central US.
One test for how pet-friendly a city is can be found by looking for some sort of a pet store that carries basic pet supplies from Frontline Plus. If you can't find your pet supplies, I think it's not a very pet-friendly place.
