Escargot stuffed in mushroom caps and baked in butter with garlic and shallots. Roasted goat cheese with honey and thyme. Maybe a fig tart. French food is difficult to adequately describe and even harder to forget. The herbs and the textures – food is an art form for the French, where in the rest of Europe it is more of a hobby.
So my wife and I are sitting at a nice little cafe sampling some pastries for breakfast and my cell phone begins to ring. Our home security systems are programs to dial my cell if the house is breached. A few phone calls and we were able to determine that the neighbor's little boy had hit his baseballs through our bedroom window. We made some arrangements to have it fixed and began discussing our dinner plans. I'm hoping we can find some duck.
