Generally speaking, I like flowers. But I love poppies. I love the colors. Poppies are beautiful. When I look for flower seeds, I usually look for poppies.
It's hard to define exactly what a poppy is. It is not a flower, but a family of flowers. Poppies come in a huge variety of colors. And you can find a poppy to grow in most climates.

California actually has a poppy reserve in one of it's state parks. According to the official web site, the Antelope Valley California Poppy Reserve comes alive with the seasonal surprises of the Mojave Desert Grassland habitat. The park is a day trip from Los Angeles.
