Best Airline Announced Next Week
As promised, I'm keeping my eye out for the results of the Skytrax annual World Airline Awards. Their web site states that the results will be announced next week. The World Airport Awards will be announced at the same time. Some of the favorites include Quantas, Cathay Pacific, Emirates, and, last year's winner, British Airways. Hong Kong Airport and Singapore's Changi Airport have dominated the airport category for the past 5 years. The results are based on passenger surveys.

Of course, most travelers only come in contact with these airlines during international travel. As I said in an earlier post, it sure is nice to have a little luxury on a long flight. Luxury does not always make for the most memorable flight however. That would have to be the turbulence plagued prop plane that was struggling to make it to some backwater that was recommended by the guy in Lonely Planet.
