Vacations are a time to relax and slow down. So why would you want to add a little velocity to your itinerary?
I'm not talking about whisking through your to-do list as fast as you can. I'm talking about taking in some of the fastest auto racing that the world has to offer. Formula One races often take place in some of the world's most beautiful locations. Melbourne, Monaco, Spain, and, beginning this year, Singapore.
Tickets are on sale for every race in the 2008 season. Multi-day passes allow visitors to take in the high-paced festivities at their leisure. In fact, the race is only a small portion of the event. Interactive automotive and cultural activities, and plenty of shopping, precede the revving of engines. And, if you are in a place like Singapore, there is plenty to do outside the gates as well. Singapore's famous food, shopping, and gardens constitute a world-class event in and of themselves.
The F1 schedule gets underway in Asia in springtime before spending the summer in Europe and returning to the East in the fall. It might be worth it to check for package deals when you buy tickets to the race; there might be some hotel or airfare deals available to race goers.
