3 Dishes to Try in Shanghai
If you are like me, then at least some of the time, you travel with your stomach instead of your head. The unique flavors of strange cuisines might seem exciting to some and cause apprehension in others. Still, there's no denying that some of the best memories on any given trip revolve around food. Huge cities, like Shanghai, have a lot to offer visitors. Here are three dishes to try while you are visiting China's largest city:

1. Xiaolongbao is a small steamed dumpling with pork. It is usually served in the morning and is available from stalls on many of the city's corners.

2. Thousand Year Old Eggs are actually not a thousand years old and are actually not as bad as they sound. they are aged in clay and have a pungent but pleasant taste.

3. If you are in search of a hearty meal look for one of the slow cooked stews popular throughout Shanghai. This type of dish is known as "Red Cooking." These dishes are heavy in meat and contain numerous spices. Eaten during Shanghai's cold winter months, these stews will really warm the stomach.

Of course, Shanghai is a world-class city, with many world-class eateries. Here's a partial list.
